Latest: MacDowell Tombstones: They Were Here
MacDowell Fellows have signed and dated wooden tablets in the studios at the end of each residency since at least 1909. Every studio has a collection of these plaques, known as “tombstones” for their shape and the implied intimations of mortality. Discover more of their legacy here.Read more
